At the heart of our camp program are the individuals who have energy, enthusiasm, and the desire and ability to work with children. Each year we select only the most qualified and mature staff members to work with our campers. This dynamic group of individuals will be responsible for your child’s safety as well as his/ her fun. We take great pride in saying we have the best staff in the area.
SUmmer Camp Employees work Monday-Friday for 10-11 weeks.We are open from 7:15am- 6pm. Staff works 8.5 hour staggered shifts (7-4:30, 8-5:30, 9-6:30, etc). Each counselor will have a group of 10-12 campers divided by grade that are your campers for the summer.Expect to have fun!!
Afterschool employees normally work Monday-Friday 2:30-6pm. We offer flexible scheduling for college students. The same fun at summer camp applies to Afterschool! We also offer homework help.
Big Fish Academy Employees work generally Monday-Friday. part time and full time available and flexible scheduling .We are open from 7:00am- 5:45pm.
Counselors worship, play sports, create art, sing songs, examine science clubs, etc. All counselors will constantly be interacting with the campers throughout the day. You will LOVE getting to know your kids and group. You will go on all of our field trips and swimming days with your group. We encourage all staff to bring a Bible to work.

Jeremy and Molly Deitch (Owners)
Jeremy and Molly have been hosting camps and after-school for the past 10+ years in Chattanooga and Knoxville, TN. Jeremy went to The University of Tennessee at Knoxville and has a degree in Economics and minor in Commercial Recreation, while Molly has a RN degree from University of Tennessee, Chattanooga.
They started the 1st Big Fish summer camp with only 40 campers in 2009 at a Church in Ooltewah. God has blessed their ministry now to over 10 partnering locations and over 1,400 campers that attend each year either summer camp or after-school. Big Fish Academy is our newest branch of our company.
Our mission is that all involved will have a safe and fun experience and everyone will grow in their faith through our ministry.
Lisa Grant (Director, East Brainerd Campus)
Lisa is a preschool teacher at Ooltewah Baptist’s Creative Learning Program. She has worked with Camp Big Fish for the past 11 summers. She has a bachelors degree in early childhood education and has worked with children for over 20 years. She attends Eastwood Church where she works with middle school girls in the youth group. Lisa loves Jesus, and she loves sharing that love with children.
Ms. Haley: Knoxville Afterschool Director and Summer Camp Director
Haley has worked with Big Fish for 2 years. She has a 8 year old son Noah,
Dog named Jackson, Cat names Phoebe. SHe is a Knoxville native for 3 1/2 years and has an Environmental science degree from UT. Haley Attends Faith Promise Church. When Haley is not at Big Fish, she is outdoors somewhere with Noah. Hiking, camping, kayaking, or playing ball!
