Mrs. Dara: Director,

Our Grace UMC site director at Big Fish Academy is Dara McCormick. Dara graduated from Mt Juliet High School and has an Associates degree from Vol State Community College with an emphasis in business. This is her 7th year at Grace UMC Preschool and taught the 3 year old class for 6 of those years. Dara's husband works for a party rental company in Nashville and they have a teenage son that is in the Wilson County school system. 


Mrs. Jenn- Assistant Director

Hello!  I'm excited to be working with children and families again after taking a break to be a SAHM.  I have a Bachelor's degree from Nazareth College and 17 years of experience working in Early Childhood Education. This past summer I was the Director for Camp Big Fish which was the first year in Mt. Juliet at Grace UMC.  I look forward to continuing with Big Fish Academy as the Assistant Director.  I'm originally from central NY and moved to TN 8 years ago.  I'm married with a 7 year old, twin 15 year old step-daughters and our 2 dogs.  We enjoy camping, hiking, traveling and spending time with friends and family. 


Mrs. Heather-Support Staff 

I received my BS degree in Elementary Education from Taylor University in Upland, IN. I taught 5th grade for 2 years before my husband, Rob, and I started our family.  We have two children.  Our son, Sam, is a junior at UTC majoring in Business Management
and our daughter, Claire, is a senior at MJHS.  I have been teaching 3’s at HUM Preschool for 11 years and am so happy to also join Big Fish staff as an aftercare teacher.


Ms. Helen- Support Staff

Hi! My name is Helen! I have lived in Mt. Juliet since I was 6! I just graduated from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville with a Bachelors degree in Nursing. Throughout college I worked within childcare with toddlers and preschoolers. I have a passion for taking care of others, and I especially love to take care of little ones! I have also been with Big Fish the past two summers as a part of their summer camp in Knoxville! In my spare time, I love to be cheering on the Vols and being outside! I am very excited to be joining Big Fish Academy!


Ms.Markie-Support Staff 

Hello, I am Markie Scott and I grew up in Nashville, TN and recently moved to Lebanon 2 years ago. I graduated in 2019 from Mount Juliet Christian Academy with Honors and Tennessee Scholar Achievement. During my high school years, I was on the Varsity Cheer-squad and was the President of SLG, and a member of the fine arts program. I am currently a student at Tennessee Technology University and I am majoring in Special Education with a additional licensure of Elementary Education. I have always had a passion for working with children since a young age and feel it is my true calling. I am excited to continue my journey with Big Fish.


Ms. Julie- Support Staff 

My name is Julie Meehan. I moved to Mount Juliet TN from New Jersey when I was 13.  I graduated from Mount Juliet High School in 2019 and now I am a sophomore at Tennessee Tech University. I am currently studying communications and after I graduate I plan on going into public relations. I am so excited to be working at Big Fish Academy and help the teachers and see the children grow and learn.


Ms. Ashley- Support Staff 

Hi, my name is Ashley! I moved to Tennessee in 2017 from Indiana. I am currently a senior at Mt Juliet High School and am looking to further my education with a doctorate of physical therapy. I’ve always enjoyed working with children and spend my free time teaching dance classes, babysitting, and tutoring. I am so excited to be able to join everyone and work with the kids at Big Fish!


Ms. Addison- Support Staff

Hello! I'm Addison, I am born and raised here in Tennessee. I am nineteen years old and have always had a soft spot for kids. I actually wanted to be a teacher when I was younger, that has since changed and I want to pursue videography. I enjoy teaching and seeing kids grasp new information. In my free time I partake in playing guitar and writing my own songs. I also film weddings, as well as videos that I plan out and edit! I am excited to be apart of The Big Fish family!


Ms. Bella- Support Staff 

Hello! My name is Bella Winfree and I grew up in Gordonsville, TN and moved to Lebanon, Tn in 2016. I graduated from Lebanon High School in 2018. I am currently enrolled at Cumberland University and I am majoring in Psychology and plan on become a Psychiatrist . I am also on the dance team at Cumberland. I am very excited to be a part of the Big Fish Academy and to be able to help the teachers and kids. 



Ms. Morgan- Support Staff

Hi, my name is Morgan! I was born in Raleigh, North Carolina and moved to the Mount Juliet area when I was younger. I am currently a senior at Mount Juliet High School and am hoping to continue my education in biology or law in college. I love working with kids especially in a church environment! I am so stoked to join the Big Fish Team and work with all the kids!

My name is Jamie, I'm a nursing student at Cumberland University.  I grew up in Nashville and have lived here my whole life.  I graduated from Mt. Juliet High School in 2020.  I love working with kids, I even volunteer in the children's ministry at my church.  I look forward to meeting and caring for all of your children!


Ms. Lauren-Support Staff 

Hi! My name is Lauren Vise McClure and I have lived in Mt Juliet for a little over a year now. I moved here from Birmingham, Alabama with my husband and my 2 daughters. I have a bachelors degree in early childcare education degree and have worked in the daycare setting for almost 5 years now. My 2 girls attend Big Fish Academy and we all love it here! 


Ms. Tiffany-Support Staff 

Hey, I'm Tiffany Potts I’m so thankful to be a part of the staff here at Big Fish Academy, seriously, Covid related job insecurity was real!. I’ve been hanging out with kiddo’s from birth to highschool for years and while I will love any and all of your precious ones, snuggling babies is my absolute favourite. I moved to Nashville from a small town in Illinois 4 years ago for ministry school - my heart beats and sings for missions, and for those around me to experience the Love of God. You’ll find me always fueled by coffee, hanging with my people, creating (I’m a boss in the baking department...among other things), and trying new things


Ms. Taylor-Support Staff 

Hello, my name is Taylor! I was born and raised in Mt. Juliet, Tn and I have just recently moved to Lebanon, Tn. I am currently a psychology major at Vol State Community College. I am also wanting to eventually get my masters and become a children’s behavioral therapist one day! I have always loved working with kids and I am so excited to get to know all of your sweet children and be apart of Big Fish Academy!


Ms. Leslie-Support Staff 

Hello, my name is Leslie Johnson. I am a wife and mother of 3. We have lots of pets including a dog named Dutchess, 2 cats named Midnight and Sonny, and a red bellied parrot named Fergi. I am a middle Tennessee native and absolutely love the outdoors, especially the fall! 

 After my husband and I married in 2019, we bought a house in Mt. Juliet and have lived here since then. We attend Experience Community Church in Murfreesboro, TN and have for the past 4 years. I have volunteered in the children's ministry for the last 3 years and am currently the lead at the 5pm service.

My faith has grown so much over the years and I am so grateful to say that God is number 1 in my life today. He is the center of my marriage and family.  I am brand new with Big Fish, and am looking forward to this opportunity to continue to grow, develop, and give back to our future generations.  


Ms. Nichole-Support Staff 

Nichole is grateful to be a part of the Big Fish community. Here she enjoys helping children grow in their faith and kindness for all. She marvels at the eagerness her students bring to each new day. She holds a bachelors degree in Child Development and masters in the Arts of Teaching, both from the University of Pittsburgh. She has spent the past fifteen years teaching young learners, be it in the classroom or on the home front!
